4 Months

Jane is 4 months old today! It has been so fun having Jane as a part of our family.... the kids love her and seem to have more patience for her than for each other :) Jane is now sleeping through the night (10-12 hours straight) on most nights with minimal interference needed from us and she's in her own room. She stinks at napping unless I hold her the entire time... on a completely unrelated topic, I'm not getting much done during the day... ok, not completely unrelated :) Happy 4 months Janie Bear!

Micah can be quite distracting during photo sessions....

In honor of the summer Olympics coming up, Jane was practicing her archery form :)

Jane's First Game

This Saturday we went to our first Astros game of the year.. Janie's first ever! It was an absolutely gorgeous evening that warranted the opening of the Minute Maid Park roof for the entire game.

Micah and Lizzie LOVE Mickey.... Liz wears her excitement on the inside :)

Lizzie has an unorthodox approach to eating her hot dog...

Jane wasn't sure about this whole baseball thing...

She'd rather chew on her blankie :)

Love this kid...

And this one....

And this one too.... even if he refused to smile for me.

Gotta love a good giveaway!

Micah sure does :)

Preschool Spring Program

Micah had his Spring program at school on Monday night. Honestly, our expectations were pretty low and we had no idea how he'd do.

Welllllll, Nate and I were basically busting a gut the entire time Micah was on stage. He didn't want to sing, but he stepped about two feet in front of the rest of he kids and faced completely the wrong direction. Then at some point in the song, he started doing this....

Can you see him? He's behind he right hand speaker :) Yup, he was "that kid". There is one in every young recital that either by their enthusiasm or total lack thereof draws your attention to them. At one point he was tugging on his pants and Nate and I simultaneously turned to each other and said "I hope he doesn't take his pants off!!" and then we laughed some more. We were really proud of him though, he stayed up there the whole time and didn't throw a fit... that's a winning performance for him at this point :)

Every Player Needs a Stage

Or a theater perhaps :) I got the idea of making a puppet theater for the kids for Christmas, and when I found the idea on Pinterest of making a doorway theater, I knew it was a winner :) The only problem was that I couldn't wait until Christmas to make one. Sooooo, I decided it would be perfect for my friend's little girl who just turned 4. She is fun and talkative and I knew she could make those puppets come to life. So I made her the theater and some other friends got her some great puppets. I was really happy with how it turned out!

The little ties are velcro and can be easily undone to close the curtains and protect the mystery of backstage ;-) My friend sent me this picture of the theater in action and I'm just tickled pink that this sweet 4 year old liked it as much as I did.

"I Hate Leggings...

and other reasons why I'll never be popular." It's the title of a book I'm considering writing ;-) This is the kind of thing that I think about while I'm trapped under a sleeping baby. I even came up with chapter ideas (sadly, I had no problem coming up with an extensive list of reasons why I'm not popular), but I'll spare you the details :) I will explain the title though...

I hate leggings- AKA, I'm not trendy... I will never be trendy. I don't understand them. On the very rare occasion that I try to buy something trendy, I feel uncomfortable, unsure and just plain stupid wearing it. Currently included in this category are leggings, long tunic tops, gladiator sandals, skinny jeans and maxi dresses. The list is by no means comprehensive. Maybe I could get Stacy and Clinton to come explain trends to me.... I still don't think I'd wear them, but at least I'd get a new wardrobe :)

My Last Easter Post...For Awhile :)

Micah's preschool class had an Easter party last Thursday including an Easter egg hunt that Micah was mildly obsessed with for a good amount of time beforehand. And they're off!~

Love this shot of his high speed pivot....

Victory!

He was pretty proud of himself...

He isn't afraid to go for the hard to reach ones either...

Micah's class...

The Easter lunch is ready to go!

Gracie and Jonathan pray clasping their hands... Micah prays clasping his crayons ;-)
