Is it over yet??

Ok, I'm tired of hearing political commercials. If I am to believe everything that they are saying, there are several races out there where both the candidates are unfit. Where they are both pro-national debt, and anti-puppy. I just can't vote for an anti-puppy candidate... I won't do it.

Forget the smear campaigns, now there is a real life investigation going on that accuses Harris County of purposefully stopping people from registering to vote. Unfortunately, this claim has merit. I have a friend running for office who told me awhile ago that Harris County spends 4 times the amount of money trying to disqualify voters than to register them. It came out yesterday that they have rejected a lot of people for phony reasons claiming they were too young (when they weren't) or they hadn't filled out the form correctly (when they did). Not only that, but they didn't notify them of the rejection until it was too late to re-register. The reason, or so it is believed, is that the people in charge are trying to stop young and minority voters, who are more likely to vote democratic, from voting. This is horrifying and really sad to me. Given, I vote Republican, but this just seems so incredibly un-democratic to stop an American from choosing their own "elected" officials. I just hope this claim has no merit and these rejections really were mistakes. :P
