Gallup is for horses...

My company recently released a survey created by the Gallup organization to figure out how to make HNTB a better place to work. They sent out 5 (I kid you not) emails beforehand telling us it was coming and asking us to participate. Welllll, by the time it got here, I was pretty much just anxious to get it over with. It was one of those 1-5 where 1 is strongly disagree and 5 is strongly agree. Problem was it really didn't allow you to give any constructive feedback on the company at all. Below is one coworkers interpretation of the survey email (the one that actually had the link.... not the first 5 or the one we've gotten since :P ) His responses are italicized.

You are invited to take the confidential HNTB Engagement Survey. The Gallup Q12 questions are left up to your own interpretation. Please think of your unique circumstances when answering these questions. We know you’ve been through a lot of crummy stuff, so just go ahead and list it.

HNTB would like to see 100% participation in this survey so it can best identify what it does well and what the current challenges are. Well, 100% participation of souls that agree with what we’re moving forward with.

The Web based survey is available to you via the Gallup Web site link below.

Gallup has assigned a survey Access Code to each employee. No one at HNTB will be able to view your Access Code, and it will not be used to link your survey to your name. Your individual responses are confidential, and Gallup will not report them to HNTB.

Your Access Code, assigned by Gallup, is: XXXXX But it’s confidential...seriously, it is.

The Web site address is: https://gx.gallup.com/hntbq12.gx

You may either click on the link above or cut and paste it into any Web browser. When asked to enter your Access Code, type the survey Access Code listed above. Remember, this is your unique survey Access Code. Do not share your survey Access Code with anyone else. Boy, they sure are about this access code…better delete it at the top.

Gallup will keep your responses to the survey completely confidential. Results of the survey will be reported at the organization and team levels. Your individual answers to the survey questions will never be given to your company, under any circumstances. Meaning that it you stray from the ABCD answer sheet, you won’t be counted.

If you need assistance completing the survey, please contact Gallup Client Support by sending an e-mail to surveyhelp@gallup.com or by calling 1-800-788-9987 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday, or 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Fridays. Because surveys on the inter-net are really that complicated.

Thank you for participating in this important survey.
